Power will soon be restored in Hyderabad: Chairman of TSSPDCL

Hyderabad: Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited, G Raghuma Reddy today assured that power will soon be restored in the town which has been disrupted due to uprooted trees following heavy rains.

Heavy morning rains that battered the city on Wednesday led to power outages in many areas, with trees uprooting and falling on power lines.

G. Raghuma Reddy said power will be restored soon. He said teams have been deployed to clean up uprooted trees. He urged people to avoid touching live electrical wires that have fallen to the ground or into water,” he added.

The pre-monsoon showers have arrived in Hyderabad hitting the city with great intensity in the early hours of today. Thunder and lightning also accompanied the rains.

Until 6am, Seethaphalmandi received the highest rainfall of 72.8mm, followed by Bansilalpet with 67mm. West Marredpally (61.8mm), Alwal (59.3mm) and Balanagar (54.3mm) also recorded heavy rainfall according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
