Jamshedpur, June 7: Electricity consumers from different areas of Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency where people have been affected by poor power supply and long hours of power cuts met former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and urged him to take necessary initiatives to restore normal power supply in those areas under the Jamshedpur East Localities Assembly constituency. Residents of non-company areas like Birsanagar, Baridih Basti, Bagunnagar, Bagunhatu, Premnagar, Gayatrinagar, Laxminagar and other localities met BJP National Vice President Raghubar Das and recounted their woes. They said residents in these non-Tata Steel areas suffered from extreme summer weather and poor and erratic power supply due to which even the water supply was affected as water pumps could not work due to poor power supply. They said, “During your tenure as Chief Minister of Jharkhand, we never had to face long power cuts or water supply problems. Today, the current government of Jharkhand is indifferent to the problems of the people. There is a severe shortage of electricity and water, but the government is concerned about the collection of property and other taxes.

The former Chief Minister immediately spoke with Pratosh Kumar, Managing Director of Jharkhand Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited and on his assurance informed the people that the power supply in these localities would soon return to normal.
