AC-DC power supply for industrial machines and communication equipment introduced by TDK-Lambda

SAN DIEGO – TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego introduces the DRB120 and DRB240 DIN Rail Mount Three Phase AC-DC Power Supplies for industrial machines and systems, as well as conventional switch cabinets and communications equipment.

Models are rated at 120 and 240 watts with a two-second peak power capability of 144 and 288 watts, allowing operation with inductive and capacitive loads.

On initial start-up, the products have a low energy inrush current which helps prevent nuisance tripping of circuit breakers when multiple units are installed in a system.

The AC-DC converter supplies accept a three-phase AC input of 350-575 volts, with output voltages of 12 or 24 volts rated at 120 watts and 24 or 48 volts rated at 240 watts.

The DRB series has a setting range of 11.4 to 15 volts, 22.5 to 29 volts and 45 to 56 volts to compensate for voltage drops in the wiring, O-ring field effect transistors (FETs) for redundant operation or to adapt to standard output voltages.

For larger power systems or N + 1 redundant systems, a DIP switch on the front panel allows current sharing in droop mode for parallel operation. For output voltage monitoring, an LED indicator on the front panel and a DC OK relay contact are available. Remote on / off is possible using a closed relay contact or an input below 4 volts.

All units are enclosed in a compact and rugged metal enclosure measuring 55 millimeters wide, 129 millimeters high and 138.2 millimeters deep, leaving room for other products to be mounted on the DIN rail. Users can choose between screw terminals or pluggable wire connectors for input and output wiring.

Convection-cooled three-phase DRB models are designed to operate in ambient temperatures of -25 to 70 degrees, with derating greater than 55 ° C. Operating efficiency is 94%, reducing power loss and internal temperatures for longer life. The low no-load power consumption can be further reduced to less than 2.3 watts by using the remote on / off function to reduce power consumption.
